SHANNON JOHNSON MSPT, OCS
Shannon Johnson is a graduate of Bowling Green State University where she earned a Bachelor’s in Health. She then went on to earn a Master’s in Physical Therapy from the Medical College of Ohio in 2002 .
Shannon began her career in Ohio working for The Toledo Hospital System in both inpatient and outpatient for two years. She then transitioned to working full-time in outpatient orthopedics at PhysioSource, a therapist-owned private practice for one year.
After marrying her husband, Don, Shannon made the move to South Carolina in 2005 so her husband could pursue advancement in his career. Shannon worked for VBS Physical Therapy for 10 years at many of their locations.
Shannon earned her Orthopedic Clinical Specialty Certification from The American Physical Therapy Association in 2012. In addition to orthopedics, Shannon also has specialized training in treating vertigo and TMD.
Shannon lives in Simpsonville with her husband and her children. She and her family are members of Saint Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. Shannon joined the SSI team in July 2016 after having her fourth child. Shannon believes that each person is an individual who requires care tailored to their specific needs. She strives to use the most up to date evidence based techniques including manual therapy or “hands on” treatments such as joint and soft tissue mobilization. Shannon wants to be more than a provider. She will partner with each patient by designing a customized treatment plan that will allow the patient to achieve their personal goals.
