JENNIFER SMITH, PT
Jennifer Smith graduated from Carson-Newman College with a BA degree in Biology in 1985 and then completed her BS in Physical Therapy at Medical University of South Carolina in 1987.
Jennifer began her career at Patricia Neal Rehabilitation Center in Knoxville, TN where she worked for 14 years in the inpatient and outpatient stroke rehabilitation program. While there she completed her training in Neuro-Developmental Treatment for Adult Hemiplegia, as well as several advanced NDT courses.
Since moving to Simpsonville in 2001 with her husband, Richard, she has worked as the outpatient adult neuro and vestibular therapist for Easley Rehab Associates at Palmetto Baptist Hospital and at National Neuro, outpatient stroke therapy center. In April, 2008 she completed the Vestibular Rehabilitation course at Emory University in Atlanta. She began working at SSI in Greer and Simpsonville in May, 2009. In 2016, she became a Certified Cancer Rehabilitation Specialist.
Jennifer has been a lifelong equestrian and has combined her love of horses with her physical therapy skills to work in the therapeutic riding arena. She is a certified instructor and therapist with the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship.
