BRYAN ISBELL, DPT
Bryan joined SSI in January 2015 after moving to Greer from Charlotte, NC. Bryan comes from a military family and has lived in several states on the east coast and in the mid-west. He was born in Fayetteville, NC and grew up overseas in Brussels, Belgium.
After graduating high school Bryan performed his undergraduate bachelor’s degree at Truman State University in Kirksville, MO. He received a BS in Exercise Science in 2010 and was a varsity member the Truman wrestling team during his time there. His bachelor’s degree focus was pre-physical therapy and he presented research on pull ups as a predictor for body mass index in NCAA athletes at the 2008 MOAHPERD conference.
After undergraduate, Bryan attended Elon University’s School of Health Sciences in Elon, NC and received his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2014. During this time he participated in research studying the cause and effects of concussions in high school and college age football players. He performed his clinical internships in the outpatient orthopedics, inpatient rehabilitation and acute orthopedic/trauma settings during physical therapy school. Currently Bryan is pursuing a manual therapy certification under the Maitland Australian Physical Therapy (MAPS) program.
Bryan’s mother is also a practicing physical therapist in North Carolina. He is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and his clinical interests are post-op orthopedics and spine rehabilitation. He is a volunteer wrestling coach and Travelers Rest high school and has two great danes.
