Amanda is the founder and owner of Sports Spine & Industrial, Inc. After completing her requirements for PT school at Clemson, Amanda graduated from the Medical University of SC in 1993 with her BS in Physical Therapy. She earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy with an emphasis in Executive Management in 2010.

Amanda’s specialty areas include sports medicine, injury prevention, and treatment of surgical and non-surgical injuries of the knee, shoulder, ankle and elbow. During her career, Amanda has worked in hospital, corporate and privately owned practices. In 2002, Amanda opened her own community practice, SSI, in the basement of a used car dealership. Dedicated to providing a superior physical therapy experience in a fun-filled environment, SSI has grown from its humble beginnings to being named the SC 2007 Small Business of the Year by the SBA and operating out of 2 locations (Greer and Simpsonville). SSI not only delivers quality physical therapy but provides health club memberships to over 500 residents in the Greer community.

Amanda believes that SSI should not only be health care leaders by providing expert physical therapy, but also leaders in their communities and professional associations. Physical therapy has helped so many have a chance at getting back to their best selves after suffering from debilitating ailments.

Amanda serves her community in many arenas: Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce leadership for 9 years including serving as Chairman of the Board in 2008, appointed member and Chairman of the City of Greer Parks and Recreation Board of Trustees, Trustee for Greer’s Partnership for Tomorrow, and being a strong legislative advocate for small business. Amanda also ran for the SC Senate in 2012 in an effort to bring business experience to the State House.

Professionally, Amanda served as a an elected Board Director for the Private Practice Section of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) representing over 4200 members for 6 years. She is also Key Legislative Contact for state and federal legislators to educate them on regulations and laws that negatively impact her patients and business; recipient of the SC APTA Chapter’s Service Award and an active association member since 1993. Amanda also taught the Business of Physical Therapy to the doctorate students at the University of SC Physical Therapy Program for 3 years and presents national webinars on federal compliance and health care reform.

In her free time, Amanda and her husband, Steven, enjoy spending time at the lake and are diehard Clemson Tiger fans.
