NEW PROGRAMS!

The health risks associated with childhood and teen obesity have been long standing and are getting worse.  Stories describing the epidemic are constantly in the news.  To help combat this problem, SSI has developed 2 new programs, "Fit Kids" for ages 6-12 and "Weight Loss 4 Life - TEENS" for ages 13 and older.

Each program meets twice a week for 8 weeks and include accountability, nutrition, education and exercise.
Program materials and activities are age specific and designed to teach participants that healthy living can be fun and easy.

“In today’s fast paced world, it is difficult for families to eat right and get plenty of exercise but it is not impossible.” says Leah Hall, program director.  “SSI’s Fit Kids program gives kids a chance to get active while having fun.”  The classes include food choice education, special guests and time for parents and kids to learn together how to make healthy choices.  “We don’t advocate diets- they just don’t work,” says Hall. “We guide our participants through healthy life style changes.” 

Programs begin on June 8, 2010, and are ongoing so those interested can join at any time.

 New for 2010, SSI is Introducing a Member Referral Incentive Program to reward our loyal members for bringing their family and friends to SSI.

Beginning Feb. 1, 2010, for each person that you refer to SSI you will collect points (see chart below). Each month the member with the highest point total will receive a $10 gift certificate to a local business!. On Dec. 17, 2010 we will tally your total points for the year for the Grand Prizes!
